Rapid detection of azo dyes in textiles by using surface enhanced raman spectroscopy

Abstract：A rapid method of surface enhanced Raman spectrodcopy was established to screening azo dyes in textiles. 24 kinds of aromatic amines were studied. The azo dyes in textiles were probed by surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy employing gold nanoparticles as the enhancer. By optimizing the amount of gold nanoparticles, the type of buffer solution and the pH value, the optimization testing conditions were determined. The dosage of gold-collosol was 50 uL, while the buffer solution was a citric acid buffer solution, and the pH value was 6. Furthermore, the characteristic peaks of banned aromatic amines were collected and analyzed, which were classified into the species of aniline, biphenyl, nitro group and naphthalene. The proposed method is simple and easy to master, which can be used for fast screening of azo dyes in textiles.
